The Lucas Bols Company and the Muff Liquor Company have inked a distribution deal for the US market. Through the agreement, the cocktail and spirits company will have the sole right to import and sell Muff Liquor goods in the United States starting in October of this year.
Laura Bonner established Muff Liquor in 2017 close to Muff in County Donegal. The company’s debut product was introduced in 2018, and it currently offers gin and vodka made from potatoes.
It sells its own Irish whiskey as well. Several celebrities, including Ronan Keating, Ed Sheeran, Jimmy Carr, and Russell Crowe, have also invested €750,000 in the Donegal company.
Based on last year’s CRO filings, the well-known celebrities’ co-founded company owns about thirty percent of Muff Liquor. After obtaining planning approval at the end of the previous year, the brand intends to establish its own distillery in Donegal. It is anticipated that this venue will welcome guests in July of this year.
It is anticipated that the new building will include offices, a retail store, a gin experience area, and on-site bottling. Brett Dunne, managing director of Lucas Bols USA, stated, “We are eager to further expand [Muff Liquor’s] success with our proven on and off-premise capabilities.”
“With an exciting roster of celebrity investors and industry accolades, Muff should bring a strong retail presence and clout that our team looks forward to furthering in key US markets,” he added.
The Lucas Bols Company was established in the Netherlands and is currently operating in more than 100 nations worldwide. Its range includes over 20 worldwide and regional liqueurs and spirits, in addition to three global cocktail brands. In order to prepare for entry into the US market, Lucas Bols stated that it intends to collaborate with the Muff Liquor Company’s leadership team to develop a sales and marketing plan.
“We share an entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to heritage that has been woven into The Muff Liquor company story since my grandfather introduced me to poitín many years ago,” Ms Bonner added.
