A €4 million investment in Eventmaster, a Limerick-based technology platform that offers ticketing, membership, and fundraising software solutions for events, sports organizations, and charities, has been announced by growth capital investor BGF. Over 3,000 events a year and over 1.5 million tickets are sold through the company’s ticketing infrastructure.
Canoeing Ireland, Cycling Ireland, and Athletics Ireland are among its clients. John Cleary launched Eventmaster in Limerick in 2010, and he will continue to serve as the company’s CEO and primary stakeholder. “This investment from BGF marks a significant step forward for Eventmaster,” stated Mr. Cleary. “The future looks very bright and very exciting,” he stated. BGF will acquire a sizeable minority position in the business as a result of the transaction.
Over the past seven years, BGF has made over €110 million in investments in Irish businesses.
According to BGF Investor Joe Higgins, “Eventmaster is one of the most impressive tech companies we have seen in the Irish market.” “Over the past 14 years they have carved out a leadership position in the Irish market and they have exciting plans for expansion here and further afield,” added Higgins.
Several of Ireland’s biggest events, charitable organizations, and athletic federations are powered by Eventmaster, an online platform for ticketing, fundraising, and membership. Eventmaster’s founder and CEO, Mr. Cleary, commented on the deal, saying, “This investment from BGF marks a significant step forward.”
“At Eventmaster, we have an outstanding workforce and a solid clientele. We are in a good position to expand more quickly now that BGF and Feargal Mooney have joined us as our new Chairman. The future appears to be quite promising and interesting. “I am delighted to join Eventmaster as Chairman at this exciting stage of its growth journey,” stated Fergal Mooney, the incoming chairman.
“John and his team have established themselves as leaders in Ireland’s ticketing, registration, and charity fundraising technologies. I am excited to collaborate with them, backed by BGF, to further expand this success and increase their market share in Ireland and internationally.”
